Happenings
We've moved!

In 2010 we join forces with Sydney’s 505 in the establishment of a new dedicated live music venue in the heart of Surry Hills. This exciting new venue will be a base for a number of small music organisations and we are thrilled to be amongst it all + there will be a piano!

So from the 19th January you can find
us at 505 – corner Perry and Cleveland Streets Surry Hills. Spread the word!

We send out a big heart felt thanks
to Mark and The Excelsior Hotel for all their support over the past years and
their dedication to live music in Sydney.
Our weekly series happens at Venue 505 cnr Cleveland and Perry Streets, Surry Hills.

Mark Harris

Released in association with Epilepsy Australia

"Francophile Mark Harris returned from Paris - where he performed with brilliant musicians, famous and obscure - to become the bassist for the not entirely French but very colourful and popular Monsieur Camembert. This disc is his own jazz project. His sister Celene, whose death was caused by epilepsy, is remembered in the music and part of the proceeds go to epilepsy awareness and research.

The disc recorded in engineers Richard Belkner's shining and somewhat larger than life manner, is one of the most gorgeous sounding of the recently released jazz discs by local piano trios. Really it's a quartet, with scorching guitarist James Muller, beautifully lyrical here, joining Matt McMahon's piano in the front line. McMahon is known for his sensitive touch. Somehow it's always a surprise to hear just how hard he swings - as in several places here.
Harris' own bass sound is resonant and beautiful and Evan Mannell has one of the most distinctive approaches to drum sound, texture and rhythm you'll hear. A feast of sound, rhythm and melody."
