The James Le Fevre Quintet plays original material drawing upon a smorgasbord of influences encompassing Jazz, Dance, Blues, Funk, Latin, Hip Hop and gypsy music of the Balkans. The ensemble is characterised by its contrast of intricate, extended arrangements with open, loose blowing sections.

Melody based, electro-acoustic, mood fusion with tuneful, old-style vocals, expertly crafted arrangements and warm-toned backing harmonies.
Many lyrics feature future lands beyond dreams and loves eternal return but really cut with a heavy knife of lost-world entertainment. As well, this music isn’t loud; all notes roam undamaged, wild and free.

The Strides feature young gun drummer Al Hicks, whose past 5 year tenure in
New York has laden him with accolades such as Clark Terry and Mulgrew
Miller. Now back to recoup with old friends, The Strides have performed their high energy reggae/afrobeat on two tours and released their EP “La Mar.”
